NEXT POETRY GILD MEETING: TUESDAY,  SEPTEMBER 24TH, 2013 AT 7PM

IN THE BACKSTAGE GALLERY IN ARDEN GILD HALL

The ARDEN POETRY GILD was created to encourage, cultivate, and showcase original spoken word poetry.

The Poetry Gild meets on the last Tuesday of the month from 7:30pm-9:30pm for poetry readings.
The Gild business meeting takes place before the reading at 7:00pm.

The purpose of the Gild:
1) to promote and educate the community about classic and modern poetry, both written and spoken, and
2) to promote, inspire, motivate, and cultivate original spoken word poetry by providing a meeting venue for spoken word poets.

The two meetings consist of:

1). Reading poems by classic and modern poets, which would provide exposure to great poets as well as inspiration for aspiring and local poets.

2). The majority of every meeting will have an open mic and sign up list for local poets to perform their poetry in front of an audience throughout the meeting.
OUR STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The Arden Poetry Gild strives to change and improve our community by exploring the gifts of literature and expressing ourselves through our own writings and poetry. We find both unity and diversity by sharing the knowledge, intelligence and humor of past and contemporary writers. Our Gild expands our ability to integrate the world of written word into our lives and our community.
