Our Mission
The Arden Club is dedicated to the enjoyment of and the participation of the arts, learning, and other cultural pursuits. Regional in scope, the Club offers educational activities and events run by groups called "Gilds". These operate in their particular fields of interest to provide a varied and rewarding community experience. As part of its mission, the Arden Club preserves and maintains the Gild Hall, a historic building, which is the center for the Arden Club programs.
The Arden Club and the Gild Hall
The Arden Club, Inc. is the cultural umbrella group for many Gilds in the three Ardens: The Village of Arden, Ardentown, and Ardencroft. Activities take place in Gild Hall, which dates back to the 1850s when it was used as a barn for the Grubb farm. It was substantially renovated in 1910 as the Gild Hall and can be rented for special affairs. The grassy amphitheater of the Moonlight Theater sits to one side of Gild Hall, and the Shady Grove Amphitheater as well as the Arden Swim Club’s swimming pool sits behind Gild Hall.
The center for Gild and Club activities is Gild Hall. Concerts and theater, meetings, dances, dinners, and community gatherings take place in Upper & Lower Gild Hall, Moonlight Theatre, and the Shady Grove. We offer recreational and fun educational programs for all ages and interests. You will find a full and rewarding community experience at the Arden Club.
