Plein Air Painting with Janet Williams
Does being outside while doing your art sound like a great combination? Come learn about plein air painting from Janet Williams on Wednesday, June 25. We will meet at the Gild Hall at 6:30 pm, and the demo will be outside nearby.
If it rains, we will be inside and have a still life demo. Feel free to bring a sketchbook, but this will be more about learning the plein air process that you can then use when you have more time on your own (or with others — stay tuned!).
Janet has been painting plein air for years and has had many one-woman shows. Check out her website here: https://janetwilliamsart.com.
The Arts & Crafts Gild is being led by Megan King, Jeanne Orr, and Jill Althouse-Wood, and we are looking for others to join the leadership team. If you’re interested in helping shape this exciting new chapter for the Arden Club, we’d love to hear from you!

We can’t wait to see what we’ll create together—see you there!

Two-Day Folk Art Workshop with Casey Orr

Join us for a two-day hands-on workshop celebrating the vibrant tradition of Pennsylvania Dutch hex signs—colorful circular designs featuring floral and geometric motifs, each one as unique as its maker.

In this two-evening class, Pennsylvania-based artist (by way of England) Casey Orr will guide participants through designing and painting their own decorative 18” wooden hex sign. All materials are provided.

Optional: Bring a lazy susan to make painting easier—helpful, but not required.

Dates: August 5 & 6
Time: 6–9 PM
Location: Arden Gild Hall, 2126 The Highway, Wilmington, DE
Cost: $50 for Arden Club members | $55 for non-members
