Arts & Crafts Gild
May 2025
Wednesday, May 28th
7:00 - 9:00 PM Lower Gild Hall
The Arts & Crafts Gild is off to a solid start!
For the Arts & Crafts Gild’s next offering, on Wednesday, May 28th, from 7-9 PM in the Lower Gild Hall, we will be doing watercolor veil painting! This technique uses thin translucent washes of color layered on top of each other to create a soft luminous painting. Veil painting explores the transformative properties of color into form, emerging from the interplay of layers of warm and cool colors. The form emerges from the color atmosphere created by the layers of watercolor. The process of creating a veil painting is therapeutic for one's mind, body and soul!
Supply list: watercolor paint and paper, brushes, water cup, small plastic cups to mix paints, blow dryer, masking tape, board larger than your paper, and a table easel. If not bringing your own materials, please bring $5 for supplies. (This is in addition to the donation we solicit for the Arden Club.)
Important: If you need art materials, send an email to artsandcraftsgild@gmail.com by May 14.
After May 14th we will likely still be able to accommodate you, but it is not guaranteed; so send an email with your interest and we will let you know. Note, we will have supplies for 15 people; first come, first served!

The Arts & Crafts Gild is being led by Megan King, Jeanne Orr, and Jill Althouse-Wood, and we are looking for others to join the leadership team. If you’re interested in helping shape this exciting new chapter for the Arden Club, we’d love to hear from you!
We can’t wait to see what we’ll create together—see you there!
