If not, cryptocurrency is a digital form of currency that uses cryptography for security and operates independently of a central authority, such as a government or a bank. It relies on a decentralized network of computers to validate and record transactions in a public ledger known as a blockchain. If they are familiar, you may think that the future lies in cryptocurrency’s potential to reshape financial systems, promote innovation, foster inclusivity, enhance security and trust, and contribute to the evolution of the digital economy. And, you probably have noticed that cryptocurrencies are back in the news again after a very public meltdown. What happened? Who were the winners and losers? What’s next for crypto-regulation and adoption?

In this presentation our speaker, and Delaware’s only professional futurist, Jim Lee, gives an overview of the blockchain “ecosystem.” He dives into what’s happening with crypto—and why we better pay attention.
